ACD Inc. (Head Office: Koto-ku, Tokyo, Mr. Yasuhiro Sonoda, Representative Director, hereinafter called“ACD”) has decided to provide special support to “Japan Crafters Film Award” (its awards ceremony is scheduled to be held on September 25, 2019) hosted by Nippon Teshigoto Zukan Inc. (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo, Mr. Hiromichi Furui, hereinafter called “Nippon Teshigoto Zukan”).
This award is the film competition which is hosted for the very first time by “Nippon Teshigoto Zukan” that has worked on archiving traditional crafts and craftspeople all across Japan by filming them and is aimed at collecting documentary production in a broad sense with the focus on Japanese “Monozukuri” and “Handwork” by young film & video creators. This event is not only aimed at spotlighting Japanese traditional crafts and local specialties by collecting and giving awards to films & video demonstrating the cultures and enchantment of crafts which Japan boasts to the world, but also expected to lead to the opportunity for sending over talented film & video creators to the world. Mr. Yataro Matsuura, essayist, Mr. Koji Kato, TV talent and Ms. Yukiko Mishima, film director are to be on the panel of judges for this award. (Please refer to official HP:

Starting by this event, ACD intends to support the activities of “Nippon Teshigoto Zukan” which is contributing to advancement of Japanese crafts by dint of film & video through an effort of providing such special support and have further tie-up with Nippon Teshigoto Zukan and transmit motion pictures on works by craftspeople of traditional crafts across Japan to all the countries of the world through our service.
